No Problemo at SubSceneOkay, its film night and the popcorn's ready. We're on a roll with another absurdist Greek tragedy, oh yes, <b>Miss Violence by Alexandros Avranas</b>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgylF6mdznGCyFwqKkO_3g3Afd-D4D83mVdkc_CIHJM0phhavIWYjdRUuyQuBrk_DRVNbIcXi2ofbwzKa7uMSoyRNNg81uhnF38wpfziViJqDdwTXZZNnCd4GtZJQW2SgTdbSWwhjmxuGuW/s1600/Miss+Violence_Alexandros+Avranas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgylF6mdznGCyFwqKkO_3g3Afd-D4D83mVdkc_CIHJM0phhavIWYjdRUuyQuBrk_DRVNbIcXi2ofbwzKa7uMSoyRNNg81uhnF38wpfziViJqDdwTXZZNnCd4GtZJQW2SgTdbSWwhjmxuGuW/s400/Miss+Violence_Alexandros+Avranas.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>
<br />Then yeah, stupid me, forgot to check if there were any English subs. nope no subs, no track 1 or 2. So time to find an English SRT file for Miss Violence. Do you know how hard it is to find a copy of this film? I can't imagine what hoops I have to go through to find decent subs for this. After hitting Goog, I hit up mostly pop-up riddled sites offering Eng subs.<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho01SqowlXf0VAu5e5OoY2qKtHTZLF8jklwZRVCHlA4V5sNh_tz-oyGrszYnMv3DtvFfFRh7QwN0AmtFXFzscngbtiBOQNNI9c-wLgyHDS3srs0Ax8u2jPWObyQEzcmAVRISIq18FSMI4k/s1600/subscene_englishsubs.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="364" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho01SqowlXf0VAu5e5OoY2qKtHTZLF8jklwZRVCHlA4V5sNh_tz-oyGrszYnMv3DtvFfFRh7QwN0AmtFXFzscngbtiBOQNNI9c-wLgyHDS3srs0Ax8u2jPWObyQEzcmAVRISIq18FSMI4k/s640/subscene_englishsubs.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Finally, luck out on one, I think this site is pretty decent SubScene.com and offers the real deal for subs. So for now, this would be my first go to place for English subs. Funny thing, they also have lots of Farsi and Arabic subs as well, not just for obscure films, but mainstream ones.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01814166607028040980noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2635473717556290696.post-24580839297807137562014-12-06T09:20:00.001-08:002014-12-06T09:23:55.196-08:00The Maze Runner Movie ReviewThe <b>Maze Runner </b>was better than <b>Divergent.</b> Still I found it quite boring. Never read the YA books, I was hoping the movie versions would at least jumpstart some interest in me. Not so much in this case.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>Is it time to dance The Footloose?</i></td></tr>

<br />
<b>Thomas</b> <i>(Dylan O' Brien)</i> who looks like a young Kevin Bacon gets dump in the middle of a huge industrial maze. Thomas is just one curious kid whose first instinct is to find a way out. He starts off as a newbie then relegated to Maze Runner just after 3 days to the chagrin of the group bully.<br />
<br />
A whole 'Lord of the Flies' thing ensues with a ginger <i>Alpha</i> named <i>Gally</i> (Will Poulter) still quite similar to <i>Jack Merridew of The Lord of the Flies</i>. He would rather stay put than signal a ship or in this case, just live in the middle of the maze and call it home for like- forever. Blake Cooper playing baby Chuck is an obvious 'Piggy' shoo-in.<br />

<br />
Like rats in a dystopian <i>Daedalean</i> labyrinth, the boys try to figure their way out by facing the resident Minotaur which happens to be a bunch of robot spiders. Most of the killing happens by outrunning them.<br />
<br />
Then the emergence of Eve, well Teresa, who looks like a strung-out Bella Swan. And none of the boys want to get into her pants. <i>Really now?</i><br />
<br />
My only interest in seeing this film was this hottie! <br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Thomas Brodie-Sangster</b></div>
<br />
And the end was rather predictable, similar to other YA Dystopian movies of this vein.<br />

If you want teens fighting to the death, my money is still on the film classic <i>Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru)</i> and not the Western ripoffs.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01814166607028040980noreply@blogger.com0
